ANTIGUA DAY TOURS

Pacaya Volcano
The Pacaya Volcano which has an altitude of 2500 meters a.s.l. (8202 feet a.s.l.) is one of the many volcanoes that are near the city of La Antigua. This volcano has been in an intensive activity for the past 30 years expelling ash plumes and occasional lava flows characteristic of Strombolian type volcanoes. The Strombolian activity is named after the famous Stromboli Volcano in Sicily and normally refers as low level volcanic eruptions. There are two departures for this tour. One at six in the morning and the other at one in the afternoon. The tour is leaded by a local guide of the indigenous community located at the base of the volcano. The tour includes transportation from Antigua, entrance fee to the park and guide service.
